The meeting: Karl visits his long-term friend Wolfgang in Düsseldorf.
THE MESSAGE
For thirteen years Karl lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin. Recently he returned to his hometown Düsseldorf to visit Dipl.-Ing. Achim Dehmann and some other guy at the former Kling Klang Studio, Klaus-Peter Schmitz, Bodo Staiger at Rheinklang and all the places of his initialization with musical contexts. Of course, this is just the beginning. Trips to Paris, London, Munich and Zürich are going to follow.

Later on he went to Rhineland State Conservatory of Music, Robert Schumann Institut and met professor Manfred Waffender – he is a co-founder and Managing Director – and Andreas Grimm – professor for Media Composition – at the Institute For Music And Media. With Grimm he talked about L'Orfeo by Monteverdi as one of the first pieces of audio-visual art. To be continued...

It’s obvious that Karl showed up at Wolfgang Flür’s flat. Soon the guys got into the latest developments of software, hardware, music, film and photo equipment. Stories of the past have been recycled and brought into memory again – not without a decent amount of humor. That goes without saying.

The reason of the trip? Karl started the research, the first interviews and photosessions for his upcoming autobiography. In his book he will have a closer look at his career as musician, composer and author.

Karl: “I’m looking forward to the investigation. I still can recall delightful moments but also less enjoyable events. Anyway, I’ll try to be honest when I go back into detail. And I will.”
