When we first started listening to our records she always said, „Why do you always put that beat in?“ I said, „Why not?“ and she used to get very uptight. I mean, it’s basic, basic music. It’s just like the jungle or whatever; all societies have a rhythm to them, and it’s always the on beat or the off beat, it’s never anything else. The off beat wasn’t invented in the last 20 years, you know, it’s been there for ever. So I used to say I like them with beat. But she came round, arty snob she was. I consider myself a primitive musician just because I never studied music. They were always asking us in the early days, „Would you and Paul ever consider learning music?“, and we always said, „No, no it would wreck our style“. Sometimes it’s annoying not to be able not to write down something. I have to go through a whole complicated process to remember it, and I’ve lost lots of music through not being able to write it. But if we could write it... I think there would be some counter loss.

Hallo, lieber Karl,
Weiterhin alles Gute!

Hi Karl,

2 weeks ago in Eindhoven I was attracted to the lecture you gave at the STRP festival. It was a very interesting story, but there was one thing that I really missed in that performance. Why did you choose not to use sounds? This would be a very simple and very illustrative addition to the lecture. You might think about this; it would give the listener (!) so much more in depth information. But still, it was in interesting lecture.

Dear karl,

Being at the ArtLovesTechnology festivity last weekend in Eindhoven I missed your bands perfomance. Despite not having seen the show I was happy to have bought an Electric Music CD. Just for 10 Euro's. This album, with the rising sun designed by Emil Schult I originally heard it for the first time when it had just came out, in 1993. I must have lost it somewhere during the past years. But anyway, I just loved to hear the track TV again. It has such moving vocals and string arrangement! Great knowing that you are still exploring Music.

Succes with your future projects. Are you and W. Flur do a Electric Music project someday to?

Best regards,
Gijs.

Hi Karl (and the rest of the live band of course!),
I was in your live show at Leon, Spain March 18th 2006 and I enjoyed it so much!... Impressive sound, and more-human less-robot pose than Kraftwerk's one. Your own tunes fantastic! We love your music... respect and pure pleasure.

Hi Karl.

Besides wanting to say how much I'll be looking forward to your appearance in Malta, I wanted to ask you about a query I've had for some time.

What was the name of the NME-backed compilation that featured your frankly excellent cover of "Baby Come Back" by The Equals, and where the hell am I going to get a copy of the song?

It's so rare that I bet even you don't have a copy of it anymore! :)
